What's Your Favorite Verse or Passage?

As I'm reading in the bible in a year, I continue to be struck by the passages that the publisher/editor chose to bold and highlight.  It made me think about which verse/section I would highlight.  So my challenge is for each of us to think about it and comment with our favorite verse or passage.

  1. I would love to bold many of the words in Ephesians about God's goodness. Ever since hearing Priscilla Shirer speak, I am moved especially by the NKJV version of Ephesians 3:20-21:

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly ABOVE ALL THAT WE ASK OR THINK, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory...

  2. I love Ephesians, too. I think for me, maybe because it is special to both Mike and myself (we inscribed it in each other's wedding bands), I would choose Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

  3. Psalm 62:1-2
"My soul finds rest in God alone, my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I wil never be shaken."

It is a constant battle within my soul of who I look to as my Rock, my Salvation, and my Fortress. Satan always utilizes the forces found in this world to try to shake me. When I read this verse, I am reminded of how rest is supplied by our gracious God. Him alone. Not people, not places, not girl scout thin mint cookies or ice cream, but God alone.
