Tabernacle and offerings

As I have been reading the specifications of the building of the Tabernacle and now reading about the regulations for the offerings in Exodus and Leviticus, I have wondered why such precise instructions were given. I'm sure that God had a reason behind His directness. I am thinking that He knew His people's hearts and knew that they needed it spelled out (just like I do sometimes). What do you all think?

  1. The specifics are really interesting. I was thinking he may have also been specifying so precisely the requirements so that the tasks are a challenge that shows great dedication, rather than just what his people can come up with easily.

  2. I agree with Heather. I think God wanted His people to know what he expected of them so they wouldn't "cheat" and give the worst. God wants our best!

  3. I am going with the obedience thing. He lays it out for us in an expectation that we will follow His commands. Dedication and obedience are the themes I've picked up on.
